Alcandar and Earth - Present Day

On Earth Cole Somerton was once a member of Special Forces. That was before the powers that be decided to dissolve their deal with the Alcandians (a humanoid race that is made up mostly of men) to allow them to find their destined mates on Earth. Now Cole is living on Alcandar and the only real regret he has is leaving Cassandra, an enlisted woman, behind. Then Dyne, an Alcandian and Cole’s friend, informs Cole that they have a new mission. They must travel to Earth and bring Cassandra back with them. It seems she’s just broken through the memory block that Dyne put in her mind to keep her from accessing the memory of the wormhole that Cole and some others used to retrieve Zeka, an Alcandian woman that had been stuck on Earth.

Cassandra is incredibly annoyed when her recently learned meditation skills allow her to retrieve memories that had been stolen from her. Cole Somerton and that Alcandian male, Dyne, are responsible for her recent troubles. After kidnapping her and using her to get Zeva, they stole her memories and left her behind on Earth to the tender mercies of men like Colonel Rinehart. Rinehart and the rest of the military have been treating Cassandra as if she were a traitor. It’s not her fault that she couldn’t give them any information about the Alcandians and the wormhole they use to travel to Earth. Planning to find an officer to reveal her new memories to, Cassandra is waylaid by the very men she’s just been thinking about, Cole and Dyne.

Kidnapping Cassandra and bringing her back to Alcandar is where the action really begins in ALCANDIAN SOUL. For it seems that Dyne, Cole and Cassandra are fated mates, and there’s no stopping warriors when they find the woman meant for them. Military training and stubbornness alone won’t get Cassandra through the coming revelations, but the love of two good men just might.

In ALCANDIAN SOUL, Mary Wine has once again created a trio of lovers destined to find true love and entertain us in the process. Cassandra is a determined woman; she won’t go down without a fight, even when it’s her own body she’s railing against. The sexual responses that Cole and Dyne seem to bring about so effortlessly in Cassandra are both welcomed (who knew she could feel so much?) and disdained (a highly trained military mind should be able to resist their lure). But when she admits her true feelings and the men start to reveal their own, Cassandra begins to admit that life in an alien world, especially one as advanced as Alcandar, might not be a bad thing after all. Dyne has waited all his life for the mate who will complete him, so he is more then ready to claim her now that she’s been found. Cole, being human, never really thought about a destined mate until he became involved with the Alcandians, but time has revealed that such things exist and there’s no denying that the emotion and desire he feels for Cassandra is beyond the depth of anything he’s felt before. When these two men set their sights on Cassandra, there’s not a woman alive who won’t feel the heat.

Jessica, Dylan and Jett from ALCANDIAN QUEST are back as well as Zeva, Ravid and Keenan from ALCANDIAN RAGE. Many of Dyne’s relatives through binding ceremony or blood are eager to welcome Cassandra into the family. And there’s a pair of males named Greer and Osher that find Cassandra’s ability to overcome her anger at being kidnapped reassuring, so much so that I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s another story coming soon featuring them and their as yet to be determined mate. Alcandar is described beautifully and I must admit to a yearning for their technology; beds that make themselves, and tubs that can perform painless and nearly instant hair removal as well as clean themselves. No razor nicks or stubble? Alcandar must be a great place to live. Then there are the warriors in need of mates, not that that’s a consideration. ;-)

I highly recommend ALCANDIAN SOUL. If the idea of a pair of warriors wanting to shower their woman with attention and devotion inspires you, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this book as much as I did.
