Zalian Three and Karn ‘al

For a few weeks now, Sharra Ardez’s nights have been disturbed by dreams and blinding headaches. The dreams always involve a young boy standing over the bodies of a woman and her daughter, and end with a stunningly attractive man. Sharra has no idea who these people are, but knows that this man is her destiny.

Logan Mi’an Tar, a Karn ‘alian Cyborg, can hardly wait to return to his home planet, but first he is to be rewarded by the Lord Marshall of Zalian Three for saving the man’s life.  Logan is about to politely refuse the large chest being offered, when the woman walks in.  Apparently, Sharra is to be part of his reward. While he has no interest in finding a mate and less in owning a sex slave, something about Sharra draws him to her. In spite of the chemistry between them, Logan wants to let her get used to her new life, and decides to leave her alone for the time being.  But that night, he is once again tortured by the memories of his childhood and while the nightmare is followed by the usual headache, the pain is alleviated almost instantly, and Logan finds further comfort in Sharra’s arms.

Sharra’s empathic abilities are able to heal some of Logan’s pain, and the time they spend together only makes her feelings for him grow. But Sharra must keep her empathic gift a secret, or risk losing Logan forever.

LOGAN’S FALL is an engaging story.  In the war between the Pagans and the Karn ‘alians (and, apparently everyone else) the Pagans used empaths to torture their prisoners, Karn ‘alian Cyborgs in particular. So, the Karn ‘alians have little liking for empaths, and Sharra is aware of that. However, the Lord Marshall wants her out of her house, and left on Zalian Three, Sharra would become a sex slave. So, despite the risk of Logan finding out about her empathic gift, she leaves with him. The loss of her parents and the need to hide their empathic abilities has left Sharra largely untrained in the use of her gift, but she is able to help Logan with it.  Logan is a man deeply troubled by his past, and very distrustful of people. He’s very possessive of Sharra, and knows that the peace he finds in her arms has helped with his night terrors and headaches. But how will he feel when he learns her secret?  Read the intriguing LOGAN’S FALL to find out.
