Enchanted Forest

On her way to become a stranger's bride, Lady Lily Rouge is captivated by the howling wolf in the distance. Something in his keen wailing penetrates her soul, and Lily wonders if the stories of the loup-garou are true, and if her virtue is at stake. When her carriage is overtaken, Lily is chased through the woods by a huge wolf, and takes refuge in a cottage. But when the cottage's owner turns out to have the same blue eyes as the wolf, Lily is certain that the rumors are real. What's even more startling is that this man is her groom-to-be.

For over a millennium, Sir Marrok Ulfang has been waiting for a virtuous woman, so that when he shows her her first sexual experience, his curse will end. If Lily is indeed a virgin, his curse as a wolf shapeshifter will end, and he and Lily can live happily ever after. But Lily's a saucy wench, and Marrok is having a hard time believing that a woman so in tune with her sexuality could also be his savior.

A naughty take on the classic fairy tale, THE WOODSMAN is a tasty morsel from the pen of Belle Scarlett. Although it's barely ninety pages, the characters are well-written, and the love scenes intense and oh so satisfying. Lily and Marrok are evenly matched, as she, the untried maiden, and he, her ravenous suitor, whom she's been dreaming about. Even though the dialogue was a bit clichéd at times, THE WOODSMAN will slake the thirst of anyone needing a quick fix.
